YACK & YARN: KNITTING Felted Travel Bag and Felted Bowl

A Featured HOT READS FOR COLD NIGHTS Program
PART 1: Tuesday, February 17 from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Community Room.
PART 2: Thursday, February 19 from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Community Room.
Participants will learn how to knit in the round, and the art of felting while knitting a 10″ x 6″ travel bag and a medium sized bowl. Participation is limited to 8, so sign up soon.
Felted Travel Bag Materials to bring:
1 ball of Bulky Wool Yarn, must NOT be machine washable.
Paton’s Classic Wool will work.
One Tapestry Needle (Blunt needle with a large eye)
One pair of straight US Size 10 Needles
Felted Bowl Materials to bring:
1 ball of Bulky Wool, must not be machine washable. Paton’s Classic Wool will work. You may bring two coordinating skeins of yarn to make the bowl two different colors.
One tapestry needle (Blunt needle with large eye)
One US size 13 circular Needle, 24 inches long for large bowl, and 16 inches long for small bowl.
One set of US size 13 double pointed needles (dpns)
Guidelines for yarn: wool, mohair, and alpaca will felt as long as it has not been treated in any way. Machine washable yarns will NOT felt. Synthetic and novelty yarns are not recommended for this project.
