A WALK IN OLD TOWN GLEN CARBON WITH THE IL TREKKERS
Meet up with the IL Trekkers at the Library between 10:00 am – 1:00 pm in the Community Room. Each person will pay $3 at the door, fill out a start card, and sign in before starting the walk. The start card should be presented at check points and will be turned in at the finish. Enjoy a 5K, 10K, or 20K distance at a 1A rating. Routes will be suitable for strollers, leashed dogs, and marked with streamers. Water and restrooms will be available at the Library. Walks must be finished by 4:00 pm. Brochures are available at the Help Desk.

Information will be given about proper posture while sitting at a desk, suggested stretches will be demonstrated, recommended length of time to sit/ stand will be discussed, as well as other healthy practices in the workplace.

FAMILIES IN NATURE CLUB MEETUP
Meet up with Families In Nature in the Community Room and join them for an afternoon of walking, discovery, nature, and a time of reading with a snack in the Community Room afterward. The snack you bring may be left in the Community Room while you are exploring on & off the bike trails. Families In Nature is a local branch of the world-wide Children & Nature Network founded by Richard Louv. Using Louv’s book Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder, these families believe that connecting with nature is an imperative.
