Benefits Check Up - BenefitsCheckUp is free service of the National Council on Aging (NCOA), a nonprofit service and advocacy organization in Washington, DC. Many adults over 55 need help paying for prescription drugs, health care, utilities, and other basic needs. There are over 2,000 federal, state and private benefits programs available to help.

Better Business Bureau - BBBs are nonprofit organizations encouraging honest advertising and selling practices and are supported primarily by local businesses.  They provide ratings (A, B, C, D, or F) of local companies to express the BBB’s confidence that the company operates in a trustworthy manner and demonstrates a willingness to resolve customer concerns.

Bibliomania – Over eight hundred texts of classic literature, drama, and poetry together with detailed literature study guides. Large reference book and non-fiction section.

bicBiography in Context – Biography in Context delivers outstanding research support with nearly a million biographical entries spanning history and geography.

Congressional Directory - The Congressional Directory is the official directory of the U.S. Congress, prepared by the Joint Committee on Printing (JCP). Published since 1888, the Congressional Directory presents short biographies of each member of the Senate and House, listed by state or district, and additional data, such as committee memberships, terms of service, administrative assistants and/or secretaries, and room and telephone numbers.

Consumer Reports – ConsumerReports.org is one of the most trusted sources for information and advice on consumer products and services. In Library Only.

Core Documents of U. S. Democracy – Contains the cornerstone documents of the U. S. political system (The Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the commentary/auxiliary materials like the Federalist Papers.) Also links to the Library of Congress’s excellent web source for page image of early American sources.

Our research indicates that prospective students of the internet age desire clear and accurate information, displayed in a friendly and easy to use interface. Driving-Tests.org – Driving-Tests.org offers free Illinois Drivers License permit practice tests, for both automobiles and motorcycles, as well as tips for getting or renewing your driver’s license.

Ebsco - Full-text articles in science, humanities, education, and business from U.S. and international professional publications, academic journals, and trade magazines.

Eldercare Locator - The Eldercare Locator, a public service of the Administration on Aging, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is a nationwide service that connects older Americans and their caregivers with information on senior services.

Empowered Doctor - Empowered Doctor has thousands of articles and stories about all areas of medicine, including many specific types of Cancer.  Empowered Doctor also provides the latest and most breaking news articles for the daily health and cancer sections in The Chicago Tribune and Arizona Central.

Encyclopedia of Life - The Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) is a free, online collaborative encyclopedia intended to document all of the 1.8 million living species known to Science.

Meals on Wheels - Meals on Wheels provide well over one million meals to seniors who need them each day. Some programs serve meals at congregate locations like senior centers, some programs deliver meals directly to the homes of seniors whose mobility is limited, and many programs provide both services.

Thomas: U.S. Congress on the Internet - Congressional bills, bill status, historical documents, etc. Thomas is a very useful web site for legislative-history research on relatively recent Congress.
