Backyard Beekeeping
Presented by: Bonnie Summers, Illinois Master Naturalist

Beekeeping and gardening go naturally together. Squash, cucumbers, apples, melons and strawberries are just a handful of the many crops that rely on bee pollination.

This class is perfect for those of you who are considering beekeeping for the first time and want to learn more before bee season is in full swing. If this is the year for you to dive into beekeeping, this is a great place to start!

About the presenter:

Bonnie Summers has been a beekeeper since 2009. She claims not to be a honeybee expert, but attended a beekeeping class in 2009 presented by the St Clair County Beekeepers after her interest in the loss of honeybees began. She is employed as a pediatric nurse practitioner.
