Junior Friends of the Library Cover Design Contest

Are you in Grades 6-12? Are you an artist? Then showcase your skills and creativity and enter your original artwork in the Coloring Book Cover Design Contest! One winner will be chosen to have their artwork be the cover for the 2024 Community Coloring Book, created by the Junior Friends of the Library! Entries can be made from April 1st – May 31st 2024.

  1. Youth Grades 6-12 can submit.
  2. Artwork can be in full color, but it is not required.
  3. The artist can choose whatever theme they like for the cover!
  4. We will only accept original artwork entries. For legal reasons, we cannot accept entries that include fan recreations of licensed characters (ex. Captain America, Disney Princesses, etc.) no matter how much we love them.
    1. Artificial Intelligence-generated artwork and imagery will not be accepted.
  5. Physical entries must be no larger than 9 inches by 12 inches to accommodate the Library’s scanning abilities. Entries larger than the accepted size will not be taken.
    1. To prevent resizing issues, entries can be no smaller than 7 inches by 10 inches
  6. Digitally drawn entries can be sent via email to: saml@glencarbonlibrary.org
    1. Digital entries should be no smaller than 1000 pixels by 1000 pixels to maintain image quality.
    2. Digital entries must be in .PDF, .PNG, .JPG, or .JPEG formats.
    3. Digital entries may be edited by the Library to fit the page for printing.
  7. Artwork must be appropriate. As a public library serving children and youths, we reserve the right not to accept material that would be inappropriate for all ages to consume.
  8. Entries may or may not be added to the final product. We are grateful for all submitted artwork, but retain the right to not include any entries for any reason.
  9. The winning entry will be decided via vote by the Junior Friends of the Library. If there are not enough members present to vote, then Library Staff can vote on finalists. The winner will be chosen and contacted in June.
  10. Sign your work – we want to credit the amazing artists! (Signature does not have to include full first or last name).
  11. Get creative! This coloring book is made by the community – let’s showcase all of our interests!

All physical art submissions can be picked up from the Library starting Friday, November 1, 2024.
